1. GWD-18-Q1

The Arthritis Research Institute of America advises women of color that they have twice the likelihood to get osteoarthritis of the knee as do White women.

      A.    that they have twice the likelihood to get osteoarthritis of the knee as do White women

B.    that they are twice as likely as White women to get osteoarthritis of the knee

C.    that their likelihood of getting osteoarthritis of the knee is twice as much as White women

D.    of being twice as likely as White women to get osteoarthritis of the knee

E.     of having twice the likelihood of getting osteoarthritis of the knee as White women

3 [transitive] formal to tell someone about something

advise somebody of something

advise (sb.) to do
advise (sb.) that...

When an active tooth in the shark’s jaws is lost or worn down, many spare teeth lie in seemingly limitless reserve, each of which are ready to slide into the appropriate position.

  1. When an active tooth in the shark’s jaws is lost or worn down, many spare teeth lie in seemingly limitless reserve, each of which are ready to slide into the appropriate position.
  2. Whenever an active tooth is lost or worn down, many spare teeth lie in seemingly limitless reserve in the shark’s jaws, which are each ready to slide into the appropriate position.
  3. Many spare teeth lie in seemingly limitless reserve in the shark’s jaws, each one of which are ready to slide into the appropriate position when an active tooth is lost or worn down.
  4. The many spare teeth lying in seemingly limitless reserve in the shark’s jaws, each one of which is ready to slide into the appropriate position whenever an active tooth is lost or worn down.
  5. In the shark’s jaws, many spare teeth lie in seemingly limitless reserve, each one ready to slide into the appropriate position whenever an active tooth is lost or worn down

A中each of which后面应该加单数还是复数啊?

Over the course of the eighteenth century, the average output of ironwork tripled as a result of several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore.

  1. Over the course of the eighteenth century, the average output of ironwork tripled as a result of several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore.

  2. Over the course of the eighteenth century a tripling in the average output of ironwork was due to the replacement of charcoal by coal for the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore, in addition to several improvements in blowing machinery.

  3. With charcoal’s being replaced by coal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery, the average output of ironwork tripled over the eighteenth century.

  4. The replacement of charcoal with coal for the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery, the average output of ironwork tripled over the eighteenth century.

  5. Charcoal being replaced by coal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore, and several improvements in blowing machinery, which tripled the average output of ironwork over the course of the eighteenth century.

In 2000, a mere two dozen products accounted for half the increase in spending on prescription drugs, a phenomenon that is explained not just because of more expensive drugs but by the fact that doctors are writing many more prescriptions for higher-cost drugs.

  1. a phenomenon that is explained not just because of more expensive drugs but by the fact that doctors are writing

  2. a phenomenon that is explained not just by the fact that drugs are becoming more expensive but also by the fact that doctors are writing

  3. a phenomenon occurring not just because of drugs that are becoming more expensive but because of doctors having also written

  4. which occurred not just because drugs are becoming more expensive but doctors are also writing

  5. which occurred not just because of more expensive drugs but because doctors have also written

In 2000, a mere two dozen products accounted for half the increase in spending on prescription drugs, a phenomenon。

So dogged were Frances Perkins’ investigations of the garment industry, and her lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent, Alfred E. Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt recruited Perkins to work within the government, rather than as a social worker.

  1. and her lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent,

  2. and lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent, so that

  3. her lobbying for wage and hour reform persistent, that

  4. lobbying for wage and hour reform was so persistent,

  5. so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform, that

这题考了so…that… So + adj. + be + n., and so adj. (be) n., that ....

C"So dogged were her investigations of the garment industry, and so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform, that she was first recruited by Gov. Al Smith, and later by Gov. Franklin D. Roosevelt, to work within New York
                State
government, rather than against it. "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
