OG给的说明是up to this point in history, American art did reproduce European traditions.

be long overdue in doing sth是早该做某事而没做。。为什么后面跟did not又表肯定呢。。。语法比较差的，想不通，请教下呢，先XX啦

the United States was long overdue in developing art that did not reproduce European traditions，那么大意就是：usa发展自己特色的艺术比较晚吧。由此推出：usa之前一直reproduce。。。

哦哦，刚才脑袋有点不清醒的说。现在好像有点明白了，是不是USA早该发展那些非复制欧洲传统的艺术了，但是却没有。所以他一直在复制别人。呵呵~多谢！！！
