 遇到了大全里的一道题，答案是D，但为什么谓语不用单数，想请教一下。

小拉：你的题目里面的句子主体结构是：Recent essays....describe....，从语法角度看，是简单的陈述句， 主语是essays，复数形式，所以谓语也要用复数。不要被essay后面的by Garrison...迷惑，因为那个是修饰主语essays的定语结构，而the humorist and...部分则是Garrison Keillor的同位语。如果你认为describe以及后面部分是为了Garrison 的，那么整个句子就没有谓语了。不知道我说的够不够清楚
