A Transportation Vehicle that has changed people's lives

When the Wright Brothers invented the first airplane, a new era of transportation in human's history began. This plane made the dream that men could fly free like a bird in the sky come true. Airplanes,   as the exponent of modern vehicles, virtually have contributed to the modern life more than people thought when it first invented.

The advancement of modern airplanes has made the travel around the world much less expensive and more convenient. For example, if I took a plane from Beijing, it only took me 5 or 6 hours to get Paris. Thanks to the short time spent on the journey, I could recover from the fatigue quickly and enjoy the spectacular scenery in Paris with more vigor. In the far past, when airplane is not available, people used to travel around by ships, which was threatened by the bad weather conditions and pirates. After months of hardship, no one had the mood to appreciate the local customs and culture.

In addition, with the development of airplane, more and more goods which are difficult to transport and cultivated in specific areas, such as fruits and aquatic products, are available in local market. Some fruits like litchi are cultivated in southern China only because of the low temperature in northern China. It is known to all that the taste of fruits would deteriorate after several days on the transportation. But the development of airplanes has made the transportation easier and the cost lower and lower. As a result, people in the northern China can get those southern cultivated fruits readily which are still very fresh.

Moreover, airplanes are hardly affected by the surface conditions. When there was a flood or earthquake, all the other transportation vehicles couldn't get to the disaster area, but airplane could. During the recent earthquake happened in Sichuan province, it is the airplanes that we used to send food and necessities to victims. It is undeniable that airplanes contributed a lot to save people's lives. Besides, with all the communication and transportation interrupted during the earthquake, the only way to investigate the disaster situation is by plane.
