Do you agree or disagree with the following notion that people behave differently when they wear different cloth.
Obviously, cloth is playing an essential role in social activities. People wear different cloth on different occasions. Of course they would behave differently according to it. Therefore, I agree with the notion that people would behave differently when they wear different cloth.
First, some cloths are designed for specific purpose. For example, suit is made for formal occasions, such as important meetings. Can you imagine a gentleman who wears a suit doing sports in gymnasium? The common sense tells me that no matter how much he loves sports, he would never go for exercises there when he is in suit. Thus, some cloths limit people’s behavior.
Secondly, cloths effect what people should do. It’s not hard to perceive these scenes: rappers in big shirts, police in uniforms and drama actors in exaggerated costumes. What would happen if they exchange their cloths? For an instance, police wears loose, large hip hop shirts, searching for evident in a community. He might probably act not as confidently and maturely as wears in uniform. Many questions are likely to besiege him when he knocks the neighbor’s door, “will they question my authenticity? Am I look like an abnormal policeman?” without a doubt, people would act differently with the influence of the cloth they wear.
Finally, wrong cloths worsen people’s behavior. Although the old saying tells people that don’t judge a book by its cover, the marketing science indicates that the appearance of a product would not only effect customers’ choice, but also confuse them with its “cloth” and real utility. Similarly, this happens among people, especially at job interviews. How would an employee feel when he suddenly realizes that he wears a too casual cloth when he got to the office, seeing everyone in suit with tie? Usually, that job applicant would act more awkwardly and less confidently than when he’s in suit because he is afraid of losing a good first impression. As a result, wrong cloths worsen people’s behavior.
Since cloths are designed for different purposes, and would effect what people should act, and sometimes even worsen people’s performances, many people would act differently according to them. |
