One book I would recommend is Richard Montauk's "How to Get Into the Top MBA Programs." (you can buy it online). There are several sections devoted to MBA essay writing. The reason I like this book a lot is that it deals largely with how you go about strategically thinking about your essays and how you can systematically plan your answers. There are also some examples of well written essays in the back of the book.

The most effective inspiration for writing effective MBA essays really comes from your own experiences. Putting together a list of the reasons why you want an MBA and how it can help you in your career is a good first step since those will serve as the basis for your essays. Making sure you support all your claims with good examples is important too. Make sure to point out your "uniqueness."
