If someone is looking to become a corporate credit trader and later on a hedge fund manager, would Wharton give adequate academic preparation?
My impression is that Chicago goes much more in depth in term of market finance (S&T, Quant strategies, risk management) while Wharton has an edge on corporate finance (M&A, P/E, IB). However it's undeniable that Wharton also has an edge on reputation and alum network and produce better leaders/general managers.
Does anyone know a Wharton grad in S&T that I can speak with? I am slotted for interview for R2.
Take a look at the finance faculty here and you will realize Wharton has an edge in any finance subject. If you want to be a good trader, you don't need an MBA. |
