此题的正确答案是A，但我选的是B。我想问得是：1。选A的理由，即选出A的详细思维过程；2。这类题一般有什么技巧处理?例如这题，they 可指代 applied-art objects, 也可指代 the laws of physics. 我没看出指代的不同所导致的语意上的差异，在这种情况下，怎样确定正确答案是紧挨着they的名词，还是更远一些的其他名词。谢谢各位大牛指导：）

我自己觉得从句子分析来看，they follow basic patterns 应该是插入成分，要不objiects后面就不可以是逗号，所以那个they 的指代就满足就近原则。 如果 they follow basic patterns  不是插入成分，那么they 就应该是 选项B 了。

不好意思，我自己都是水手，所以不清楚是否理解得正确。
