人比较懒就打了a,b选项。

答案是b。

prep笔记中排a的说法是a的“where”不能修饰lines。

但是鄙人愚见是where后面的这个they，向前就近指代指到了lines，指代主句主语又指代到了cellular calls，总之就是不能指代到逻辑上的主语“emergency calls”，所以排a。

恩。另外，where出现，一般错的多。因为where无法很准确地定位位置，更多用in which。书面语中这种情况都很少用where。

還有一個考點thus，標誌因果關係，幾乎出現在有and的句型中。

觉得这种解释是比较好的。可是不太明白向后指代的问题。where这里不是应该向前就近指代lines吗？为什么又会向后指代到了主句主语呢？不是只有在中间的doing结构才可能引起这样的歧义吗？

可能问题比较弱。劳烦解释下。谢谢了。

they指代主句主语calls，where 用的不好，应该换成through which，但这样一来就重复了前面的travel through所表达的意思。

travel和inform两个动词并列，清楚地表达了calls发生的两个动作。
