就是在那本大大的黄书第663页，我以前也没看到前面的定义，是看了这题后才去看了。非常头大，本来记得可清楚了，两个分号，有一个逗号，逗号后面有and，每个分句主谓齐全，这一下就全完了，又找不到北了。

谁再来说说呢》？？？？谢谢。

第一句话之所以可以用and连接是因为and前后是2个实意动词(carry  ,provide)，

第二句话因为be动词are不能和实意动词require并列，故必须用逗号隔开。这句话同时告诉我们be动词和实意动词并列时如何处理。

They were happy and they deserved their happiness. 后半句的they是不是需要省略呢？因为并列句主语相同？　　　　　　

这句话我认为不能省略后半句的they，省略以后就是be动词和实意动词。

请大家指正。

OG11 p633 明明是用分号分开2个独立句子，哪来逗号之说。逗号当然不行的。

难道是几位的版本问题？我在amazon上买的，是国内引进版印刷错误还是新版改过来了？困惑。

不过无论如何，用逗号分开两个独立句子而不加连词肯定是Run－on，肯定错，后来的同志不要为此有疑问了。你的og上是逗号的话上面加一点就成，印刷错误。
