这儿ETS是不是认为不加逗号会造成confusion啊？所以才加上一个本可以optional的逗号呢？

同意楼上的，我也这么认为。

ETS特别腔调的run on sentence是and前面没有加逗号，因为and前面如果加逗号的话很明显是链接两个分句，而不加逗号的话就要看逻辑意思，and是链接哪两个部分。

所以我觉得,1)如果是同一主语, 不加逗号;

           2)不同主语,要加逗号

这两者并不矛盾，因为前者说的两个简单句都应该是完整的句子，所以逗号可有可无，但flroa说的情况中第二部分不是一个独立的句子，and连接的实际上是两个并列的谓语（主语相同），所以and前不能有逗号。

这个问题我也很困惑 ，打开OG11的黄书，确实是这样写的，难道有了逗号可以没有and吗？？？？？？？？？

根据GMAT SC中表达要简明的原则，两个分句一定要有连接词（and），且如果两个分句的主语相同，第二个分句的主语应该省略且and前不用逗号；如果两个分句的主语不同，第二个分句主语不能省略且and前要加逗号。

关于这个例子：

Correct: Jose is still a feared batter, most pithers don't want to face him.

确实比较怪异，不知道这是哪一题，我印象中OG里面题目好像没有这种run-on（GMAC认为的）的表达啊！

如果上面这个例子确实是OG中的，那我估计是不是GMAC的又一个错误，毕竟其以前也犯过错误。否则我也确实没法理解了！
