我也是刚开始看作文,就借楼主的看了一下,顺便提了点和楼主不一致的建议。我的英语比较垃圾,所以就当交流交流,献丑了。。。呵呵 Nowadays, with the process of modernization and informatization , a variety of medium appear in our life such as television and the internet. The advent of the television (我觉得这里的advent用得不合适,后面combine的主语是television吧)not only combines pictures with sounds but also exerts a positive role as a source of information, knowledge, experiences and entertainment. Thus, people have to meet with a dilemma whether to gain knowledge from television of(or) from tradition(traditional) books. From my perspective, I could not help but believe that one can learn more from books than from television. Here I would explain my reasons , the most important reason for my trend is that we could learn something systematically from books. A(an) appropriate example is cooking. When you want to be a good cook , you can either browse some books about cuisine of(or) just learn from some TV programs. However, suppose you choose to sit up(我觉得没有必要up吧) in front of the tv set every day to obtain some tips and technique(s) about several dishes, you may not have a good command of the ingredients, procedures and(or前面是否定) the tips of a dish because you could watch the process of cook for only once. Yet, this problem could be avoided if one follows some cookery books step by step. So it can be seen that it is not easy to learn some techniques from watching television, whereas books can teach us those skills comprehensively and systematically. Another equally significant role of learning from books is that television now is full of entertainment programs which are also called visual junk. People can barely gain anything meaningful from it(them). For examples, talk shows about famous people’s privacy or some violence movies. (这句话是不是支持visual junk?)Many people are wasting(waste) too much time in watching them but learn nothing. Furthermore, they may also be harmful to our mental health. By contrast, the publication of a book requires strict censor. Thus books are relatively more siginificant than television in terms of education. Moreover, books can hold knowledge better than television can. It’s easy for us to forget what we’ve already learned. When we want to go over what we learned in the past, books is definitely a better tool than television. We can just simply take out the book we’ve read and read over your annotation again if you have it. However, we can’t “annotate” television program. And books are more convenient to conserve than television programs. Finally, as a famous saying goes “ Every coin has two sides”. Admittedly, television provides a convenient means for us to get the latest current affairs and social news, however, it might be true that it is better to learn from books.
