Dear Visa Officer,
I applied for F1 visa in the summer of 2001 for the purpose of continuing my undergraduate study in US, and was rejected of my application in both July and August. Though my situation completely changed now and I do not believe that the denial of visa seven years ago would have any direct influence to my application this time, there are still a few points that I would like to clarify here.
The aspiration of entrepreneurship was deeply rooted in my mind ever since I was in high school. The hidden entrepreneur in me has always been my only motivation to go to US, as well as the most important reason to pull me back to China. For me, the essence of entrepreneurship lies far beyond the fortune, power or status, instead it is an inspiring and everlasting process that I can really establish and change something.
Seven years ago, I hold exactly the same dream as I do now, but selected an unwise approach that does not fit my personality and interest. I grew up in a family in which both my grandfather and my father were experts in engineering field. Subtly influenced by them, I once wrongly believed that the new technology was the only determinant in initiating a successful new business. Definitely, the best place to acquire the most advanced high technology is US. Therefore, I had planned to continue my undergraduate study in US in order to become an expert in science & technology field, and returned to China to launch my high-tech company afterwards.
Though adamant and passionate as I have always been, I was a first-year college student with extremely limited exposure to the real business world. While my horizon broadened gradually, my passion for business overwhelmed my interest in science & engineering. I came to realize that I am a natural business leader and would never enjoy the sense of achievement in any other domain. The dynamic, challenging and exciting business environment is the just right world where I belong to.
In summary, my ultimate motivation of applying for F1 visa both seven years ago and now are clear, candid and consistent. I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the visa officer’s efforts to terminate a worthless investment of time and money as well as a poor planning of my life seven years ago, but it is not reasonable to assume that I have ever had the intention of immigration to US.
Thanks for your time and patience to understand my situation subjectively and holistically.
Sincerely, |
