Some people spend their entire lives in one place . Others move a number of times throughout their lives , looking for a better job , house , community , or even climate . Which do you prefer : staying in one place or moving in search of another place ? Use specific examples to support your opinion .

It is quite a personal preference whether to stay in some place all one’s life or to move from time to time in search of a more fitting place . As for me , it seems to be too haste to pick either way of life without the comparison with both advantages and disadvantages .

 

There is no doubt that living in one place for a long time is a good choice for those who are fond of stability of life as well as jobs . Most importantly , moving from place to place is extremely time-consuming and energy-consuming . Take packaging for example . It is likely that this simplest work will cost us several days . However , there is still something that cannot be taken away , such as good relationship with neighbors , job opportunities , comfortable climate and so on . When moving to another place , we should start our life all over again and will probably spend another several years to struggle for what we have had before . In addition , we have to take the whole family , rather than ourselves , into consideration . Every time we make a critical decision which will more or less influence other family members , we should be more prudent and ask ourselves whether my spouse will be fit for the new life , or whether my child can integrate into the new environment and can get along well with the local children . As we know , most of the moving experiences are traumatic for children , as they have to say goodbye to their best friends and take a long time to adapt to the new living surroundings . I have such an experience when I was 10 years old , and I still find it a nightmare to live in a totally different environment . I still remember the night before we moved when I was crying and asking my dad why we had to leave .

 

However , moving from time to time is wonderful for those who are thirsty for a new start and better opportunities . One of the greatest benefits is learning more about the world by living in different areas or even countries . For example , in China , many inhabitants in other provinces do not understand why people from Guangdong
                                Province drink soup every meal . But when living there for a period of time , we know that the climate determines this custom and soup has become a symbol of Guangdong culture . Without living in a place in person , it is difficult to have an insight into the local life style , especially the culture . Besides , living in the same place may be a little dull and lack of excitement . We are even able to see what tomorrow will be like .

 

Generally speaking , I believe that the benefits of staying in one place for a long time outweigh its drawbacks . It is too challenged for me to move to some place I totally unfamiliar with , considering my good relationship with my neighbors and friends , as well as my aged parents who need me to take care of , though there may be more chances in another place .
