哎， 每天上CD来逛一圈，怎么会没有注意这个热帖呢？ 这要是在当初等offer的时候和人吵吵架，斗斗嘴，练练打字，扇扇风，点点火，培养培养逻辑思维能力，消磨消磨时间， 多好。babycake 也不早些天发帖。

in most of the american's eye, Most prestigeous unversities in US as follows:

Harvard, Princeton, Yale----long tradition and elitist circle, very hard to get in, really upper class.

Stanford, MIT, CIT--new and top, tech-oriented. hard to get in, but most of smart asian students managed to get in.

and then comes the Ivy leagues.

从头到尾复习了一下这个帖子，几个男男女女围成一团污言秽语的围剿一个USC小MM，还未成功，对USC好感大增啊，哈哈哈。

Location wise, LA is definitely a great place to live, work and even retire. I've been living here for 13 years, really love this city and plan to probably spend many coming years here as well.
But USC is really not a good school for MBA at least. I applied for USC this year and did a lot research on this school. My initial impression was a OK school to attend, but after a few incidents during the application process, my confidence dropped to zero. If a school doesn't even treat its applicants seriously and doesn't care about its presence, how would you expect you would enjoy your 2 years MBA experience with it. So I got in, but I'm not going.
If location is your first priority, go for USC.
If school is your first priority, go for Duke.
Just my 2 cents.

如果毕业后想再加州工作，go USC，加州的公司是不来duke招人的，完全需要自己network; 如果job location不是个问题，go duke!
至于读书期间的地方, 不是重要的，反正你也不会有很多时间享受阳光沙滩。
