土地是满足人类基本需要还是留给濒危动物? There is great discussion over land. One of the questions under debate is whether the land should be used for human basic needs or left to the endangered animals. The issue is becoming a matter of concern for amounting people, especially for governors and specialists on animals. As for me, the information I've collected in the recent years leads me to maintain that precious land is supposed to be remained for the rare wildlife. For one thing, due to the explosion of population and the progress of modernization during the 20th century, lots of land including lush forests and spacious wetland has been plowed over by agriculture, slashed apart by highways as well as superseded with shopping malls, recreation centers, cinemas, public facilities and the like with a view to gratify the growing needs of people. It must be noted that these acts above is understandable during the process of development, whereas, many experts in ecology point out that the strides in the economy has violate the basic principle of the sustainable development. As a result, wildlife has been deprived of their lifelong habitation. Many unique and irreplaceable life forms that can survive nowhere else will become extinct before they have been described by scientists. Their significance to nature's balance and their possible contribution to human welfare will never be known. There is no denying that the problems about our basic needs can be resolved by means of population control, devising the advanced machines for multiplying the food production and so on. However, it is not exaggerating to say that those wildlife especially the imperiled animals won't have access to other alternatives, for their existence only relies on the land. For another thing, on no account can we ignore the value of the wildlife. It is universally acknowledged that wildlife contributes greatly to the scientists' research such as medical experiment and scientific inspirations. A notable case in point is the invention of the radar by terms of the study of the bat. From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that it is indisputable for land to be remained to the endangered animals. |
