Just got the r2 interview invitation. Am in Beijing and like to know who has done this here by-chance has the contact info of Jay, ( Columbia alumni in Beijing).

BTw, the whole columbia online system is very interesting and different with other schools. Not user-friendly.

It's funny you mentioned their online application system, I think theirs is the best among all the schools I applied, hehe

this morning, i got the email that said my app status changed. I thought i was rejected. so i just opened it this afternoon and interestingly they asked me to have an interview.

i remember that mid of Jan, the school started to review my application. I submit the app on Jan 8th.

BTW, 你是校友面试吗？(Columbia r2 是不是只有校友面试一种方式啊？）是学校指定的一个alumni还是提供几个让你选？

just back from interview. Basically you have to try to schedule the interview with the alumni first and if it doesn't work the adcom will telephone interview you.

The interviewer is very nice and told me this year a lot more applicants are applying columbia. he estimated 10% will be interviewed and 5% will be admited.

The interviewer asked very common questions such as

1) why mba

2) why columbia

3) briefing my college and working experience

4) career plan

The interview format was quite effective and practical.
