Columbia online application help

I ever noticed one information on CD that Columbia cancelled the application fee for Chinese applicant. So, when we submit the online application, just click the button"Click here if you will not be paying by credit card" payment option and do not need to send another USD$ draft?  

Or, do we Chinese need to ask for a fee waiver request before/after submiting online application materials.

I have called the school. You need to first fax them a request stating that you are a Chinese currently living in Mainland. When you submit your application online. The fax no. is 001-212-662-6754. And, the school said "Please allow up to three weeks for an update to your online status confirming that your fee waiver has been approved." So I think try to fax the request as soon as possible if you want to meet the deadline of Jan. 15 to try your luck of getting a scholarship. Hope this may be helpful and good luck to all of us!

another piece of info. having requested a fee waiver, you will choose money order or check something as the means of payment when you submit your application online.

No I don't think so. I think it is more of a letter. Anyway, I wrote my own letter using my own format, if it can be called a format. :p

Hi, linear, sorry for not answering your short message soon. As I said in my last posting, I don't think there is any format for the request letter. I just said that I am a citizen of China and currently living in Beijing. I then told them my ID card no. (originally planned to provide my passport no. but it was not with me and I just did not mention it then)

As for payment, I think you are right. Just choose pay be cheque or money order and then wait. The school said you have to wait for up to three weeks to know if they grant you the fee waiver status. So fax them the letter as soon as possible.
