Can you make your point clear? You think Umich is much better than GIT, or converse?

I did some research. I know Michigan got some TOP IB placements, but most Chinese students went to Hongkong. Right?

Why you think I am downplaying the people going to HK? Your words are incentive.

If Umich is "much better" than GIT, shoudnt its placement be comparable to thoese top MFE programs which only produce graduates heading to the Street instead of HK?

I also reseached GIT's program. On what stage you can be so confident that their placement is not as competitive as yours? Have yourself researched GIT yet? I think GIT deserves respect.

Reason why is that you'll have much better exposure in HK. And to be honest, HK is paying much more

你去看看今年CMU COLUMBIA NYU.....的internship placement, 再看看我们的, 我敢说没多大差别.

我敢说GIT不那么好,因为: location sucks; connection is not good; a guy did undergrad there in my class told me it's not good. Maybe GIT's placement is good this year, and you can tell me what they got. Also, comparison has nothing to do with respect or not.

你怎么就觉得wall street那么牛逼呢 HK的竞争比wall street激烈很多 世界金融中心的转移趋势看不到?

ls的，NYU目前为止也只有一半多些找到intern,但是最大的区别就是他们几乎都在NYC实习，几个中国人甚至都没有考虑申请亚洲的. 听他们说，香港确实比Wall street好进很多。CMU听说是有去做energy trading的，而且还不少，实习分布地点也比较广。

location在不同的人心目中有不同的意义，没有必要比出个高下，也不用把自己的想法强加给别人。NYC是世界金融中心，就像一个荣耀至高的光环。而HK的优势是：global pay--收入（相对物价、税收调整后）比Wall St高是确实，而且亚洲工作的专业化程度还不像Wall St那么细，所以往往一个position的人要接触很多工作，就象cmao前辈说的better exposure。另外，即便是在相同的location,公司的level也可能不一样，做选择的时候往往都是要同时权衡location和公司level两个因素（或者更多）

1) Who tell you HK pays more? Dont argue with me that in HK you have more purchasing power?  

2) Who tell you the financial center is shifting? Look at most powerful companies listed in US and how other markets strongly follows the US market no matther how their economies go. Asia is just an emerging market yet.

3) Given admitted by NYU CMU and Umich, which one do you choose?

4) For GITers, HK is not a diffcult place to go just like you Umich guys.
