我想你现在想不通的问题就是你已经是经过筛选而得到面试邀请的，为什么面试完被还是被拒了是吗？首先，不可能所有被面试的人都可以拿到admission。 我想Wharton即使给你面试也只能说明你初选合格，也就是说你有吸引adcom的亮点，所以他们决定给你面试以进一步了解你，他们也许想通过面试（1）了解你的交流能力，优势所在；（2）看你是否能将essay中表现出的weakness弥补过来。可能你最终就没有给他们一个满意的印象。

更何况，你是没有办法知道你的interviewer对你的评价的，也许你自我感觉很好，而面试你的人当时也对你表现出兴趣，最终的结果可能还是会和你想象的差别很大。

当然最不幸的就是adcom为了diversity的比例考虑，你不幸被拒（按理说这种情况在第一轮是不太可能发生的，但是who knows）.

从这封ding letter里是看不出任何有价值信息的，因为所有被据的人拿到的是同样的内容，而各人被据原因肯定各不相同。

转发给你一个wharton alumnus对interview的看法吧，虽然我不知道他说的对不对：

Wharton typically give half applicants interview invitation. But the AdCom usually has already decided which ones they will finally give offers. For other applicants, they just don't want to miss some exceptional good ones. But you have to have an interview with an AdCom member and do extremely well on it. So...

另外diversity对于录取影响还是不小，你的背景在整个applicants里应该算很好的了，可你是在finance/banking这个pool里，要在这些人里有你的uniqueness才可以。建议如果有途径，看看前几年wharton招的大陆finace方面的人都是些什么背景，可能会有所启发。R1在diversity这方面并不占便宜。adcom不会在R1里一个背景的人招的过多，最多给waitlist而已。

另外Wharton的feedback seesion比较有价值，里面你会听到针对你essay中每一个部分adcom的评价（尽管书面的评价和真实原因可能不同）。

谢谢你们的分析。

面试后我与面试官通过电话表示感谢。他说报告已给学校发过去了，他是实事求是的，他说用的都是FIRST CLASS的评语。但他也说是否录取最终由ADMISSION COMMITTEE定。另外还有一些事说明他不会骗我。所以，我在想是不是评语太好了，起反作用了？

我没有把自己定位在FINANCE这个池子里，我有意避开这个板块。我定位成A GOVERNMENT EXPERT OF INVESTMENT THAT WANTS A WHARTON MBA。但可能ADCOM仍将我划为FINANCE了。

I agree with the above comments regarding the ding letter. Here, I just want to reply to your first question. Under my online status, the transcripts are listed as "official" in "Received" probably because I sent them official transcripts. Maybe you sent them "templates", not official transcripts? You can also post your question on Wharton's student2student discussion board. Usually, people from admissions office will respond very quickly, even more quickly than through emails.

masters from a us school
worked for two years in a small consulting firm
gmat: 760 toefl: waived

Your background is amazing. So, the Wharton experience will give you the key to those big firms in the U.S. The Wharton alumni are very generous to donate funds to help the faculty and the students.

But some Chinese students have problems when they reach a certain level of management. If they continue to stay, the space for promotion is limited. If they choose to set up a small company, the resource is too limited.

What do you think about the dilemma?

看来，今年Wharton从大陆招生的人极少，除danceindream是从美国招去的，只有gowell拿到了offer，其它的在CD的有过面试的都被拒，是否今年的录取政策有变？

胜败乃兵家常事。现在可初步认为是“语文”没考好，“作文”思路不对。明年再好好考。

If you really want to know the weakness of your application, the best way is probably wait until May to request a feedback session with the adcom.
