我想问一下，是不是大家申请好了以后都给学校寄补充材料呢？以前没有想过这个问题，但是今天开始在想，要不要找认识的校友帮我lobby一下。。大家是怎么想的呢？

I personally think that unless the alum you know is very influential, otherwise it might provoke negative impact on your chance. Why not just send the adcom a letter or whoever interviewed you stating that you understand that this year the application process has been very competitive, you really like the school, blah blah, and if there is anything you can do to strengthen your chance of admission? Just my 2cents, good luck!
