Some people believed that a college and university education should be available to all students. Others believe that education should be available only to good students. Discuss these views. Which view do you agree with? Explain why.

Many students treat the university and college education as their stepping stone to gain an excellent job which is able to bring the high-quality life to them. Some students will leave a question to our society whether the university or college education should be available to all students. Practically, base on the economic developments that our society had right now, I think higher education ought to be accessible to good students and the reasons will be illustrated as follows.

My first reason is the higher education’s capability is unable to afford all the high-school graduated-students go into it. For example, in Waterloo Region and Toronto Region, there are six universities and five colleges. Even though these two regions have high density higher education distribution, there always happen that one hundred students go to the classroom only provide fifty chairs. The main reason is higher education system cannot adapt the rapid increases of the local population. If all the students join into higher education system, there will be 10 times people than previous number which is one hundred then squeeze into a fifty-chairs-classroom. You can imagine what that picture will be and there are no longer considering as the delightful places to study.

Furthermore, if all the students get into the higher university and college, there will be an enormous burden for federal government’s finance. As you know, federal government gives a huge amount of money to assist the higher education system’s funding each year. In other words, when all students are enjoying their university and college education, government is afflicted by how to find these funding for all students. There have more appropriate places to spend the money rather than that. For example, federal government can enhance the funds to health care and shorter the patients’ waiting time for some urgency operation.

 In conclusion, if university and college education are available for all the students, the result is just the opposite of what one wishes.
