Can everyone help me brainstorm the answer to this question:

What are the key differences between being a leader and working as part of a team?

Another variation is:

How do team skills differ from leadership skills?

I'm sure there are various ways to answer this question. But here is the answer in my case:

In a team setting, I don't need to "intentionally" hide my personality. In other words, I can be as pleasant with my co-workers as I want. As a leader, I need to hide it somehow, strategically. Can still be open, but if too easy-going, staff tend to take advantage of it.

Just my 0.02 =).

The leader is a person who can take the iniative and risks and bear the responsiblities of large effort-no matter he is the real person who has the actual authority. while team work is not that kind.

let me take a try...

Being in a leader's position, I could be challenged to utilize resources and reach the goal. In my mind, the best team member can find him/her position to the best of the team's benefit, either a leader, a subordinate, an assistant, or anything else.

I believe to give an example may impress the interviewer, rather than just giving an idea.
