I personally feel that leadership is about a moment of "being leader or being a center". For CEO or top managers, it is their jobs. But for most MBA applicants, it is just a moment - usually when sth unanticipated happens, you stand up and shine a while.
I guess you can sell it as : 1) sth always happens while no one cares/notices. 2) when you notice, you say "wait a minute, that is wrong" 3) we say "That is not your business." 4) you insist your harassment to us until we give the leadership you want. 5) Then you can finish your leadership essay.
