Anybody can explain why A is wrong?

The western world'd love affair with chocolate is well-documented; few people have been known to have tasted it for the first time without requesting more.

Key is (D) few people have been known to taste it  

why original A is wrong. I think the action of taste is happened before known, so a past perfect is required.

谢谢蓝色泡泡，但是偶觉得这里似乎应该用完成式更好，因为完成式强调了不定式的动作发生在主句动作之前。看下面摘自语法大全：

1) 现在时：一般现在时表示的动词，有时与谓语动词表示的动作同时发生，有时发生在谓语动词的动作之后。
　　He seems to know this.
　　I hope to see you again. = I hope that I'll see you again.　我希望再见到你。

2) 完成时：表示的动作发生在谓语动词表示的动作之前。
　I'm sorry to have given you so much trouble.
　He seems to have caught a cold.

agree!的确从时态上看是先有吃不吃,再有知不知的

但这里我认为原句只是想传达一个客观存在的事实,用在:后作为一个证据支持前半句

而不是:很少有人被得知已经在第一次吃了却没再要的,象这样的"已经"好象不是原句想要表达的,也没有要在时点上比较,体现已经完成的含义

看这句话的表达few people要表达的意思是一个否定的意思，实际上没有人taste...这里用不定式强调动作还没有发生，而不能用现在完成时去强调动作已经完成。
