请大家帮我看看profile，申请marketing

1。 国内一般本科，文科，和marketing没什么关系

gpa按成绩单上写的85算A的话是3。6

2。 美国50-80名徘徊的大学 硕士，和本科同一个专业，学的课也和marketing没什么关系，不过觉得这个专业里学的research methods感觉和marketing的research methods相通的

gpa 3。67

3。gmat 710

4。 旁听了两们marketing课

5。 推荐信还没确定完，第一个硕士导师（应该写的不错），第二个research methods的老师，很tough，有风险，第三个中国老师lecturer，旁听了其一门marketing的课，很nice。第四个，marketing 美国教授，比较tough，公正，有风险。第五个统计课的老师，但那门统计课有点难，只得了b，丢了中国人脸。但是确实学的不是很懂。有风险。

6。一篇原专业不知名的journal上，submit了篇第二作者的paper。老板说发应该没太大问题，苦苦等结果啊。

请问申请pen state和u of maryland这样的学校有戏不？很迷茫啊，选校。。。。希望大家指点一下。
university of washington这样的学校怎么样？比较想往东西海岸和南部跑，人口多的地方，容易找老公。谢谢大家了

UWash is generally a great school although I am not sure about its marketing program. You should talk to the professorw whom you want to ask for recommendation to see if they are willing to give you strong letters.

Washington's marketing program is very strong. Many guys are from Stanford and Kellog.And their recent placement is excellent. Of cos training there is tough and painstaking.

Plus, if LZ wanna stalk guys, don't go to the south. School like Vandy is known for 美女, not georgeous guys.

Marketing phd program at psu and maryland is much better than uw, what joysource mentioned should be wustl.

Your background does not match psu. For psu, most committee members are modeling guys, a big bull in our board who got the offer from a top three program also got rejected by psu just because the committee members like applicant with more technical background.

谢谢大家啊。我也是想走consumer behavior路线，对quant也没什么兴趣。

西边都有些什么学校呢？我倾向于50左右的学校。大家推荐一下？

Attched is the 41-60 level of marketing department basing on the numebr of publications and total weight in jmr, jm, and jcb from 2000-2007. It may not be very reasobale since cb guys can also publish their papers in other good journal. hehe, cmu is even ranked lower than wustl, how would you say? everyone in the field knows that cmu is better than wustl.

楼主的选校有点保守...你可以试一下 好一点的学校. 只要教授欣赏你,你就能进去了.这个和排名没有什么太大的关系. 我个人觉得UWashington和UMaryland都不错啊,如果毕业不想做faculty还可以去找一些咨询公司．不知道楼主文科是Econ还是Psych..如果是这两个，marketing 教授都比较欣赏的．（比较匹配consumer behavior)　而且貌似UMarland的就业很好啊．

当然研究兴趣很重要的了．如果你喜欢中部的话，还可以考虑一些IN, OH, MI，IL的学校，有一些确实比较喜欢做Consumer Behavior了．不过，就是呆在一个自己不喜欢的地方４－５年也是很郁闷的
