刚写了篇作文,本来是昨天该写的。写起来时间还是比较紧张.虽然写完了.时间紧,看了几眼.并没查出错误,结果错误还不少. 贴在这里,算是汇报的一项. 75. Some universities require students to take classes in many subjects. Other universities require students to specialize in one subject. Which is better? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
With increasing competition in job markets, whether universities should require students to take a wide range classes has been a hot debate for quite a long time. Some people believe that college education should provide a large variety of classes for students, in order to insure their prosperous future. While some other people hold an opinion that students in universities should specialize in one subject so that they will have more competitive advantage in job market after their graduation. From my point of view, I firmly believe that it is better for college students to take many classes of different fields instead of only one subject. The reasons are as follows.
First and foremost, the purpose of college education is to educate students for the future development, but not just to provide some special skills for the job. As we all know that people choose to go to university in order that they can gain academic knowledge, develop their intellectual capacity, make friends as well as make a preparation for future job. However, job hunting is not the only purpose, so concentrating on only one subject will do harm to students' well round development. Students need to study not only their specific knowledge in their major, but both scientific knowledge and literal knowledge. For example, they should study mathematics, physics, biology, as well as history, languages, philosophy etc.
In addition, there is a strong trend that interdisciplinary problems need more and more people who have multiple knowledge to deal with. For example, when tackling environmental problems, which are very crucial for sustainable development of the whole world, we need to consider about not only environmental aspect, but also economic principles and social sciences. Only people who can understand knowledge in all these fields can really handle the issues successfully. And college study can provide students with systematic study in all these areas.
It is also should admitted that o study something special will give students some strength when looking for jobs after their graduation. While they can achieve this goal by concentrate some of their time on things they have particular interest, or something they are good at. For example, some may have a talent in computer science, while others may be good at language study. After taking many classes, it will be easy for students to find their real strength, which will benefit a lot when they decide the area they want to focus.
From the discussion above, we can safely reach the conclusion that taking classes in many subjects will be beneficial in students' full development, their dealing with issues as well as finding out their interests, so I firmly believe that universities should require students to take classes in many subjects instead of specializing in one subject.
