I went to Tulane Economics PhD program in 2000. The school is very beautiful. But New Orleans is way too difficult for job hunting, especially when you are a foreign student who needs visa sponsoring. After Katrina, the econony is even poorer. Wait and see if you have better options. You can easily make the $80,000 tuition in 1 year or 2, if you go to a top school or a school located in New York, Atlanta, San Francisco area. just my personal opiono though.

Tulane is my last resort.
