Don't choose anything for MBA but do it for your career.  MBA is only one of the paths that you can take, not a final destination.

people move through lives without really thinking about where they are going

my advice:

1)forget about the career

2)stop comparing with your friends

3)think about what you want to do (triple-think)

4)and then dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go

MBA is just one option.

in my opinion, it is career push you forward, but not you go after it

generally, few people know what they want to do. you figure out one career goal/living style some day, within 5 years, you will find out another direction. remeber, people change, dreams also change. therefore, just make a short-term goal(lets say, 2 years), pursue it, and forget what will happen after 2 years. maybe you will ask: is this a man who can not see beyond his nose? i will answer: that is the reality of human being.

there are manager/director/VP of techinical support. do you think these managers are not real managers? yes, they are managers, although less important than sales director, marketing director, BD director, blahblahblah, but, they are still managers with power and money. furthermore, i have to tell you again, it is career push you forward, but not you go after it.

let me guess, sales manager who do not need to play with the customers is one of your favorite positions. am i right? emmm, think about those sales guys, do you really think they are not ambitious in this position? and think about the supervisors of the manager, do you really think they will put a guy without sales experience on it?

heres the difference. I will find, or try to, something fun but not boring when Im calm and peaceful. everytime im in struggle (no matter what it is), I will make a decision as soon as possible.

almost 8 years working experience teach me a lot. the way changes all the time you see the world, the society, my colleagues, my bosses, my friends, and myself.

one of my bosses used to teach me the principles of life. I asked him why he taught me these stuff. Heres the answer: the duty of older people.

Im not old enough, but I would like to reveal something that might be complicated to you.

1)never plan anything that will happen two years later

think about pursue MBA degree which means huge money, opportunity cost, time cost, unpredicatble future, big pressure, etc.. it just takes you 2 years.

2)manager is manager, no matter what department he/she manages.

3)work overseas or study abroad is very important to develop your career, especially you work in a MNC. citizenship of developed county is much better.

4)CEO is the biggest sales of the company first, and then CEO itself.

5)making friend with your boss. it is difficult, but necessary. It is the only way you get promoted.

6)you are an expert when you stay with your boss, and you are boss when you stay with your staff. it is the only way you show values to your boss, and let your people feel they are important.

7)the most significant meaning of assigments is let your boss know you do it quick and perfect.

8)theres nothing you are not willing to do. only two questions you need to consider: 1) is it benefit me? 2)is my boss happy? character-restrained? nothing but an excuse.
