1. People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

College is a place where students can study further and get abundant experience. It is obviously that different people have different reasons to attend college. For instance some people want to further develop their own interests; some want to get a better job which can bring more money; others may want to change their current situation after studying in college. In my opinion, whatever reason people choose to go to college, studying in college is just a preparation for the future life.

First of all, students can learn new knowledge and more practical experience through studying in college. When in college the knowledge we get is deeper and further than that in high school, and we ourselves decide how to learn how to study and what to learn. That means we begin to explore our own way to get the knowledge as more as possible. Maybe someone will argue that we can also learn at home by ourselves, I will oppose this argument. While in college, what we learn is not just the knowledge in the books but also the knowledge from the entire round, the teachers, professors even our classmates and so on. Furthermore, when you come up with difficulties of your subjects, you can get help from your teachers. Because colleges always have labs, then you can practice what you learn and improve the effects.

Secondly, students can learn how to cooperate with others. Though college offers us large quantity of knowledge, it is always being as a small society in which you deal with will not only the schoolmates but also people around it.For instance, when a teacher gives a group homework and then you have to work out with your classmates. Though you have been do homework alone for almost ten year, now you have to learn how to cooperate. It is essential to consider others' ideas and share the minds with others. College also supply a chance to let students live with others. Staying with strangers always make us feel uncomfortable and when at home our parents can compromise whatever we do, while in the dormitory students have to consider many factors in order to get along well with others and develop an ability to handle with bad relationship.

Thirdly, it is beneficial for us to plan the schedule reasonably. Unlike high school education, college supplies a looser environment which enables us to develop more interests. As getting into the college, students get more chance to touch with computers. Then it is necessary to learn how to get balance between studying and relaxing. Many students indulge in the computer games and neglect the studying; they prefer playing to finishing the homework. Furthermore, you have to promise good results of your subjects when you get in some school community or take part-time job.

 All in all, in college students can not only get more knowledge but useful experience such as cooperate with others and arrange time reasonable. These are all very important for the future work and life.
