申请美国phd是否有希望，敬请帮忙鉴定，多谢！

个人大体情况如下：

1，本科国内省重点财政学院国际经贸毕业，平均分80出头

2，大型国企采购，国际采购工作2年半多

3，500强之一国际采购2个月

4，国内德语学习一年，然后申请到德国，目前就读于德国一所知名商校的MBA项目（项目不知名，正在申请FIBAA认证），重点方向为 int. marketing and mgt, export mgt, int. procurement

对市场学的phd很感兴趣。。。

但个人觉得，GPA太低，非市场工作经验，更无论文发表之类。。。

请教各位，本人几率是否完全没有？

或者如果在申请之前，继续在某方面加强努力，诸如申请到公司市场部实习等等，是否会有帮助呢？

看到大家经常提到论文几篇几篇。。。

想问一下，指的一定是发表了的论文吗？

学习期间的论文以及master毕业的论文有没有可能起到作用呢？

I think first you should not be troubled "paper."

There are many catergories of papers. For example, the journals that your paper was published, your contribution to the research. As I know, it is not an easy task for a master or undergraduate student to first author publish his/her paper on a journal recognized by the area without any mentor or coauthor.

Last, I want to say it is very competitive. But you should think why you will want to spend 4-5 years to get a Ph.D. What special track of area you are interested in? Otherwise, there is no necessity to even have a try.

And I must say, you are totally right. One should think about why he is going to do sth ahead, esp. if it is about, like everyone says, such a lifestyle decision. I honestly dont know if I am making a right decision for lifetime. I can only imagine what kind of life it would be and how much I would like it---thanks to CD. But I do know that it is the best decision I can make right now and I wont easily give up sth that I have chosen myself. What's more, I do have a strong feeling that I want to know more about maketing this way.

So I guess what I lack now is confidence. I actually thought about studying phd from time to time since long time ago but never did reseach about it particularly until recently when life gets to a point where I have to choose again and suddenly phd came into mind unprecedentedly strong. The problem is I always think of it as too hard for me to get admitted, because for me it seems that everybody who gets to study in US has very strong backgound, which proved to be true after several days of my first phd-info search project.

I think right now I want to first make sure I have "some" competitive strength or just strength whatever, so that I know if it would make sense for me to go for it. Once I identify its feasibility, I think all I need is then to do it one step after another.

I would be very glad to hear more...

Knowing more about curernt marketing research will help you see your strength/weakness better. Talk to professors around you, especially those who may know the programs in the US.
