Some people believe that the Earth is being harmed (damaged) by human activity. Others feel that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live. What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer

As the years go by, human activity takes a more and more influential part in changing Earth, which arouses a question, ”whether human activity does benefits to Earth, or does harm to Earth?” many people declare that the Earth is being harmed by human activity, for environment is being polluted. However, others hold the opinion towards this controversy, as they deem human activity makes the Earth a better place to live. I argue for the latter viewpoint. I would like to explain it in my following article.

 

The merits of what I am talking are numberless as the sand. To begin with, please allow me to state a truth. As the investigation tells us, the average longevity of human is forty years, which is doubled to eighty now. What does this mean? We are able to live longer than ever before, and the result is caused by human activity. We develop the medicine technology ceaselessly, which cures human diseases easier, such as diarrhea and smallpox, which were fatal to human and could not be conquered. We also build safer places for old men, and they do not need to worry about death as they did in the past. I really can not imagine that people could live longer in a worse system. In a word, we can be healthier and live for longer time on the Earth because of a better place to live.

 

Furthermore, as the world becomes a small village, called Earth village, we enjoy more conveniences in different kinds of lives. It is obviously that we own a large number of tools that can be used. For example, plane, takes human to travel around the world; computer, help people connect with each other and scan internet information easily and betimes. Somebody would ask, “Don’t you think it is more congested in many cities because of more cars?” actually, under the control of government, there will never be too many cars. Anyway, nowadays, we are enjoying conveniences that human inventions bring to us.

 

The last point I want to say is that people are able to enjoy more entertainments now. As we all know, the most famous amusement park in the world is the Disneyland, which supply so many services that in spite of children or the olds all like to go there for a pastime, such as roller coaster. People are living lush lives, so I am sure that the Earth becomes more interesting to us.

 

In conclusion, I persist that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live, after all the quality of our lives has improved so much. And also I agree with the opinion that we should notice the bad affects caused by human activity like environment pollution. So if we invest more efforts on protecting the environment during our creations, we will understand how a beautiful place the Earth is.
