[求助]一些学校要求TSE成绩,能免吗

UIUC的要求有 speaking score. 一些其他学校的也要求.

我是参加的PBT,没有口语成绩.

我写信问了下,人家还没回.这个东西一般可以妥协吗?

请教有经验的人.

For UIUC, you can apply without TSE score. If admitted, they will ask you to take SPEAK test which is very similar to TSE but held by the university. However, you need to bear the risk to be kicked out of the program if you can't pass SPEAK in the first year.

I did ask the same question when I applied for schools. Most schools kept silent to this question so I guess it's not strictly required for the admission purpose but you will need it to be a TA after admitted.

I asked the secretory of accounting dept in UIUC, she just told me "

You will have to take the TOEFL iBT or IELTS exam as we require a speak score for admission.

"

So should i negotiate with her again to be exempt from TSE or should just try applying without providing a TSE score?

I guess you can still apply without TSE score, but I can't guarantee you won't have any problem in the process. One thing is for sure: don't argue with secretaries. It's usually a waste of time.

Maybe I will try applying uiuc.

Hehe, I now realize this truth that argueing with the secretaries is a waste of time.

These secretaries only ctrl+V the requirements on the web.
