讲一个地方V有油田,又说油井分两种,一种是vertical well,一种是horizontal wellV的油井都是vertical的;又说vertical well要用vertical drillhorizontal well要用horizontal drill;一些Vwell采了后被abandon了,因为有些油剩在里面用vertical drill采不出来,但是这些剩在里面的油用horizontal drill反而可以采出来。

一个说: the oil remained in the vertical well can be extracted if the V adapt the horizontal drill originally

A new vertical drill should be developed to extract all the oil

题号:CR156.      (34605-!-item-!-188;#058&007579)

Crops can be traded on the futures market before they are harvested.  If a poor corn harvest is predicted, prices of corn futures rise; if a bountiful corn harvest is predicted, prices of corn futures fall.  This morning meteorologists are predicting much-needed rain for the corn-growing region starting tomorrow.  Therefore, since adequate moisture is essential for the current crop's survival, prices of corn futures will fall sharply today.

Which of the following, if true, most weakens the argument above?

(A) Corn that does not receive adequate moisture during its critical pollination stage will not produce a bountiful harvest.

(B) Futures prices for corn have been fluctuating more dramatically this season than last season.

(C) The rain that meteorologists predicted for tomorrow is expected to extend well beyond the corn-growing region.

(D) Agriculture experts announced today that a disease that has devastated some of the corn crop will spread widely before the end of the growing season.

(E) Most people who trade in corn futures rarely take physical possession of the corn they trade.

            D   34605-!-item-!-188;#058&007579

因为按照版本2文章的说法 "最后要用H DRILL开采V WELL中剩下的油" 就可以推出 "H DRILL可以用来开采V WELL中的油"  而文章又说 "V DRILL无法开采V WELL中剩下的油" 就说明了对于V WELL, H DRILL更好.

10. GWD-1-Q39:
Which of the following most logically completes the passage below?

Heavy rains during Centralia’s corn planting season prevented some farmers there from planting corn.  It is now the planting season for soybeans, another of Centralia’s principal crops, and those fields originally intended for corn are dry enough for planting.  Nonetheless, even though soybean prices are unusually high at present, the farmers will leave most of these fields empty rather than plant them with soybeans, since ‗‗‗‗‗‗.[选C]

A. the extensive rains have led to an increase in the price of corn
B. some Centralian farmers anticipate serious financial losses due to the extremely wet spring planting season
C. chemicals that were used to prepare the fields for corn planting would stunt the growth of soybeans
D. the majority of Centralia’s corn farmers were able to plant corn as they had intended, despite the wet planting season
E. many Centralian farmers grow both corn and soybeans
