我认为关键是westward和 stationary,相对的两个物体一个西移,一个静止,可以想象拿一张纸在固定的毛笔上向西滑,最后的墨迹肯定落在东边,
所以选D

我选了D，但是的确没有特别读懂题目，因为考试如果有这样的题，读懂题目再做几乎要5-8分钟，且不一定能读懂。感觉先排除了AB，因为从文章中无法得出两个最高级MOST和LARGEST，另外C似乎无关，因为同EAST，WEST没有关系；最后在D和E中比较，觉得加强题一定要加强结论，而C直接在讲同结论有关的EAST，所以选D。我的这种做法相信是绝望的做法，同时强烈地接受了MINDFREE的排除节省时间的原则，时间对于大多数人来说是最重要的。另外，我觉得如果考试中出现这种题，你已经快800分了，错就错了。哈哈

强烈支持这种观点！GMAT不支持先跳过，回来重新看的模式，所以往往会使人报住不确定的题不放，这样即浪费了时间，又破坏了心情，不一定值得。

最难的逻辑题往往就是考阅读能力，然而我个人认为逻辑题本身有它的特殊性，阅读题你没读懂一般猜不出答案，但是逻辑题，往往不需要读懂那么多的元素，只要掌握几个基本的冬冬就可以成功的做题。
以这道题为例，
many geologists theorize that the trail of volcanic craters and cinder cones along the snake river plain of southern idaho was produced as the north american continent slid westward over a stationary “plume”, a vertical channel through which molten rock rose intermittently from the earth’s core to burst through its curst.

which of the following, if true, tends to support the geologists’ theory of how the trail was produced?

(a) the largest craters and cinder cones are on the eastern margin of the trail.
(b) the most violent volcanic activity apparently occurred at the western margin of the trail.

有道理，有道理。看来牛牛们的共同点还是蛮多的。

我的问题是，在做完题目之前，如何判定读哪一部分、搞清楚哪几个知识点。除了感觉和直觉以外，有没有其他有规律性的东西可以依靠。

最近总结LSAT，也发现了同样的情况。四五行的句子，对答案真正有贡献的，可能就是4 5个词，其他都是铺垫。可是在找出答案之前，怎样才能敏锐地捉住这几个关键词呢？

如果真能抓住这几个关键词，我相信，速度的确不成问题。即：掌握了方法的人，想慢都漫不下来，因为确实无事可做。

问题就是，怎样，在做题之前，拎出这些知识点。

当初我做这道题的时候也主要是靠方向来判断的，排除C，然后根据关键词排除ABE

热点是固定的，而板块是向西漂移的，因此板块最东边的是最新的，曾经在一篇gre阅读中见过此类文章，84-2-North Ame
=经常做完一篇lsat的逻辑， 要想半天， 真是没效率， 不知大家有何见解

我是从句子结构想的：
其实结构挺简单的，就是 geologists 认为volcanic crateer in SOUTHERN was produced as continent slid to westward. 其他的什么解释并不重要， 尤其是什么vertial channel 只会造成混乱。

支持支持结论"produced as continent slid to westward" 只有D对. 一分钟吧。
