写的是06年11月17号的作文

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement” Being happy with a job than
having a high salary”, Use specific reasons and details to explain your
opinion.

Currently, increasingly brutal competition for job position makes a high-paid one extremely
appealing to the ambitious applicants. Nevertheless, high salary job hardly can
bring happiness due to the high stress and probable contradiction to our
initial interests.
 
It is true that we choose career mainly based on the amount of salary. Essentially, to work is
to make a living, and money is the basic force driving us to work hard. Without
sufficient money we are unable to meet the rent; finally even become homeless
rummage through trash cans for food.

However, the influences of interests on working outweigh those of money a great deal. People
interested in art probably will be a designer; someone loving basketball always
dream of getting into NBA. We take our hobby into perspective in choosing job
since we are willing to work on things fascinating for us. Those working purely
for money, by contrast, have to tolerate high stress of their work. Because high
paid means high working loads, and hard working is necessary to avoid being
fired, therefore pressure from competition and work itself will turn working
into agony, and it will be even worse if we do not like the things we have to
do.
 
High stress can also cause the break of our family. Take a movie, Click, for example. The man
in the movie works in a large company as an architect, which is a decent career with
high salary. Unfortunately, he has to work night and day to finish a
substantial amount of work, and has no time to spend with his family. He never
takes care of his wife and children; eventually with a broken heart his wife
left him and the children also hate him.

In conclusion, I am convinced that interesting job is more crucial than a high-paid one for
both the job itself and our family; enjoying the work can shape our life and
family, and reduce the stress. Unless we are so desperate for money that we
need it to survive, an interesting job is still our first choice.
