Whether people should preserve historic buildings or replace them with modern buildings. In most cases, people are fond of replacing these old buildings. As far as I am concerned, in spite of the fact that there may be a couple of advantages to replace historic buildings with modern buildings. I deem that the advantages of preserving historic buildings are far more significant.

First of all, basic to any understanding of the merits of estabilishing modern buildings are people could have a more comfortable life and share more modern building facilities. Becasue the modern buildings have some advanced facilities that old building can not offer such modern elevators, air-conditioners, and the list would be endless. So satisfied they have a wonderful modern life are those residents who hold an opinion that we should destroy the historic buildings and build up modern buildings.

Of course, we have to admit to the fact that build up modern building have one or two merits, however the further more subtle piont we must consider is that the importance of historic building to meanings of education. Because the old building can teach us how to precious our resources that exist in the world. For example. when people come to visit the great wall in china, they can appreciate a lot of the scenic spots while though these spots people can konw how chinese people defense the outside invasions in that time, and they will become more knowledge about the history and how the world have changed. Which will in trun make them become more precious our peaces at present day.

Finally, the another important point is that historic building could attract a great number of visitors from all over the world and could potentially attract more business to the local economy. Because now the historic buildings paly a very important role to promote the tourism and give people opportunities to see some beautiful historic sites. Again we can mention the great wall as an example.  According to the survey, the great wall attract about five millions of people come to china for trip every year, and this means the local tourism earn a lot of money from this site. So the importance of the economy aspect of historic building can never be ignored.

From what has been discusses above, we can reach the conclusion that no doubt there are some benefits to destroy the historic buildings, but the advantages of preserving old buildings far outweigh them. Also i believe that every one has responsibility to protect the historic buildings and keep the features of these precious resources.
