Arts and sports are two hot topics in human’s history. People, who are living in this world, can not separate these two things. It is hard to judge which one needs to put more money. In my opinion, as long as people can get benefit from whatever arts or sports, government needs to put certain amount of money on them.

We all know that the definition of art is such broad, any kind of works, which are related to people’s creation activities, could be called art. For example, music can be called art, which people can use to compose, sing and dance, etc. By composing or listening to the music, people will relax themselves. Drawing and sculpture are also called arts, which can bring aesthetic feeling to people; some of them even can last several hundred of years.

Usually, by watching national art productions, we can figure out that how art’s standards are in that country. We all know that the history of art is also the history of human. There are countless museums around the world, with which hold historical and contemporary art productions. By looking at all those art’s productions, we can find out human’s history and progresses, which express the whole process of human’s development. All of those art productions, or coming from folk, or coming from collection, are precious treasures. So, government needs to consider putting money on arts in order to keep tradition, and encouraging people to create more valuable productions.

On the other hand, sports have the same weight with arts. Nowadays, Olympic seems to become a strong symbol of a nation. Four-year round Olympic competition impels many countries to put huge amount of money to support this competition. Those countries, with who want to win all games in the Olympic, put huge money on training coaches and athletes. Just like a proverb says: “Ten year’s exercise will get one minute success on the stage”. It is exactly reveal that the process, training a high qualified athlete, is a time consuming and money consuming procedure. When seeing their good performance during the competition, people usually enjoy the happiness brought by those competitions by forgetting stories behind of those successes.  

Nobody will deny that arts and sports will bring many enjoyments for people; however, government needs to consider that how to direct people to enjoy both of them reasonably. Don’t extremely emphasize one part over the other. Appropriate balance is necessary on putting money in each part.

Is it more important to use land for human use such as farming, industry than to save for endangered animals (359)

 

The balance of ecosystem is the most important thing in our lives. It is hard to image how our lives would become without a good ecosystem balance. We may live in a desert, or live in a place with lacking of water, or live in a sand storm place, etc. Saving for endangered animals can keep balance of our ecosystem. Comparing to using land for human, such as farming and industry, I would like to vote for saving endangered animals as our priority.

 

We all know that we really need to use some certain lands for farming and industry, because all of those are necessary factors in people’s lives. However, the problem is how we can use the lands reasonable to support all people’s needs and protect animals as well. In another words, how we use limited lands to produce more products instead of destroying ecosystem, which with many kinds of animals living in it.

 

Many researches have shown that there many species extinct in the world, such as dinosaur and other different fishes, insects, etc. The extinction of all those species does not mean that human will have fewer rivals in the world. On the contrary, it just shows that human will face more and more serious living difficulties instead. Some species, including plants and animals, will bring many benefits for human. We rely on each other. Without one part, the other part can not survive very well.

 

The development of industry and farming will tend to diminish the lands for animals, and also will destroy their living conditions. For example, the pollution brought by advanced industry must break the natural world, which all animals have lived for a long time. Some of species will change their genes, or some of them can not live in a broken situation. The serious results of industry are some species will extinct forever. This will bring similar results to human sooner or later.

 

So, from long-term thinking, leave some lands for animals, just like leaving some spaces for human as well. Protect animals, just like protecting human as well. Remember, the earth is our common home for both animals and human.

You want to choose an intelligent friend or a friend with a good sense of humor? (389)

 

We all have many kinds of friends in our daily lives. Some of them may have smart ideas in their minds; some of them may have a good sense of humor. As long as I am concerned, I would like to choose a friend with a good sense of humor.

 

Humor is a necessary factor in people’s lives. It is hard to image how life would be without sense of humor. I like to get along with people, who have a good sense of humor. I am such a humor person, I like to collect humor things, which happen in my daily life. I like to read some books, which have many humor stories insides. By bring to other’s a sense of humor, my friends likes to talk to me. So do I. I like people, who have a good sense of humor, because humor always gives people good feelings.

 

People, with a good sense of humor, are also intelligent. Without intelligent, they can not use and create their humors. People, with a good sense of humor, can release their friends’ stresses by listening to their humors. For example, I remembered that I had ever in a stressful situation during my high school. My best friend, who was an intelligent girl, and she was also a humor person, told me a humor story, which brought me a big laugh after I heard her story. Since then, I still remember her story, which can encourage me to overcome any stressful situation.

 

Nobody will deny that an intelligent friend can give some good advices, which you may not notice before they told you. They can guess your feeling in an appropriate way; however, not all intelligent people have a good sense of humor. I think all people, who have a good sense of humor are all intelligent. If they are not intelligent, they can not use their humor in a proper way.

 

So, comparing to intelligent people, I still insist on choosing those people, who have a good sense of humor as my friends. I can get release by their humors, I also can learn a lot from their humors. I like my life full with sound of laugh; I also like to bring others full with sound of laugh. Humor can help my friends and me to achieve this goal.

Do you agree that our lives are better than our grandparents' lives when they were young? (403)

Life for everyone only has once. The definition of happiness is that people enjoy their lives. Comparing to our grandparents, I agree that our lives are better than theirs.

We have undergone colorful lives than our grandparents. Every time when I use internet to do some researches, I feel happy because of new technology brings so many new things in nowadays people’s lives. We can get any kind of information in few seconds, which our grandparents would use a long time may not get.

We are living in a high technology era, and we have more opportunities to know and to use all those advanced things. Transportation has become more and more convenience for people. Flight has already become some people’s general tools. We can visit any place in a short time. For example, I only use 19 hours finish my trip from Beijing to Vancouver, which would use at least one year sea trip during my grandparents’ time. We can use those saving time to do many things than our grandparents.

We also have better chance to improve ourselves, which includes our study levels, our professional knowledge, etc. We can choose any major to study, which was not possible for our grand parents. In our grandparents’ time, some of them had to stay in the farm to help parents supporting their families, even if they had intellects, however, they did not have opportunities to achieve their goals.

Comparing to our grandparents, we may face more stresses than them. We all know that our grandparent’s lives were not developed like today. They might use some simple tools or some basic mechanic machines to finish their works. We have to admit that they had less stressful situations than us, whatever in their works, and their families, even if in their studies. Stressful situations are not always bad for people. No stress, no progress, and no society’s development as well.

So, I know my grandparents’ lives in the past, I also know my life as well. I know many things than my grandparents, which are more than their whole lives. I often think about I am lucky, and I have many opportunities to experience new things, I can go anywhere to learn and experience different things, which my grandparents might not image in their lives. I believe that my children will experience more than me. This is normal; this is the symbol of society’s development.
