以下是引用sm1在2007-5-6 12:06:00的发言: Phd is for research, not for teaching. The needs for researchers are quite different from those for employees. Of course, there are some overlaps such as hardworking since both are working in organizations. However, a good researcher must have creativity to solve problems from different angles but an employee may not need creativity and only follow the instruction from the boss. (Please note that I use "may") Most business professors do not like to work in firms because of not much freedom. The Finance professor in my school who gave me a very good reference said the reason for him to come to university, even though he'd have got a much much higher salary if working in IB or Consultancy firms is FREEDOM. He said he'd rather be the boss for himself. |
