为了读书而读书。算不是上人生转折点，抉择却很难

人生要面临多少抉择？个人为了读书而读书，考虑的问题好像更多。除了结合个人性格爱好及长处等，还要考虑就业、学校位置、学费及奖学金的问题。

个人情况：工科本科，经济管理类硕士，financial咨询实习，sales & marketing相关工作两年半。Gmat考的一般，够申请。GPA一般。以后回国与否不一定。

目前可行的program有

accounting master：申请比较容易，位置近，公认就业相对好的，有希望免学费；但不太喜欢或者说没有感觉，没有相关背景，从头学起。

computational finance或精算：位置最近，数学和编程背景要求高，申请难，出来薪水相对高。数学类都修过但一般，编程很不在行，尤记当年学的很痛苦。毫无兴趣。

MBA：有工作经验，可读，但学费贵，拿奖机会少。MBA accounting major 和accounting master 在美国就业哪个相对容易？

Master Marketing research: 最符合本人背景，比较喜欢的专业方向。时间短离家人远（一年时间应该可以克服）。学费能免 但申请相对难。就业不明朗。

感觉写完，虽然没有答案，心里却仿佛轻松了一些。先谢谢大家！

I think it's time to think about what matters most to you.  Any program, one or two years, requires you to put your career aside and invest significant time and resource.  Any good program, will help you find A job, but not necessarily push you closer to where you want to be.

What you said is definitely true. I am thinking about what matters me most. Actually I have already given up my former job and I have to study and get a degree for just studying.

Sounds like you need to think harder then.  If studying matters most to you, it would make most sense to get a PhD or something else that'll guarantee maximum time in school.  If you want to stay in the U.S., the duration of the program isn't going to matter because you could be away from your family for years if you do stay and work.  If you just want a stable job after you graduate, why give up your job now?  I believe you always lose some and gain some.  It'll help figuring out what you are willing to give up.

MBA看起来贵，其实还是很多项目都有资助的，完全放弃工作经验转行念会计，可能不是很让人愉快的选择。

基本上，您的情况中，没有一个“完美组合”的。得到一些，就得放弃一些。

就个人了解的情况，我会选择MBA的MARKETING方向，求职方向为marketing analyst.

Sounds like you have a lot more choices and advantage over regular international applicants.  Leverage that.

I would say do what you will enjoy in the long run, which sounds like marketing.  Plenty of MBA admits this year received grant/scholarship and I'm sure you will too with careful planning, preparation, and execution.

At a minimum, you will be able to work for 2 years in the U.S. which means you can afford to take some loan for school and pay it back.  I think anything around 40k to 50k is reasonable, provided your husband can support the family expenses.  It's a very reasonable expectation for most schools.

You do have a lot of options in front of you and there's no point eliminating too many of them prematurely.  I would recommend you start with thorough research, then put together a stellar application, wait until you have some good offers and then decide.

好几天没有上网。Yao Yao and Pumpkin:　今天看到你们的回复和建议，真的很感动。有一段时间基本上没有考虑读MBA（当时只送了一个学校MBA的GMAT分数），一是因为学费的问题（工作两三年没有多少积蓄，家里也没有办法资助），感觉贷款读书都是去牛校的牛人之为，所以心生踌躇。二是担心毕业后工作的问题，Cd上讨论marketing专业在美不好找工作(即便老公毕业回国，也好要等两三年）。离老公学校较近的地方有个排名还不错的商学院，但城市不在发达地区。我人在这里，看来还是应该尝试一把。

无论怎样选择，都要感谢ＣＤ。
