Agree or Disagree: student should  wear uniforms

Lots of parents and teachers support that students should wear uniforms, for it make the students obey the disciplines, eliminate differences among students. And a group of students in uniforms are to some degree "clean and beautiful" from parents' and teachers' point of view. But, as a student myself, I strongly oppose to uniforms. My viewpoint is based on the following reasons and examples.

 

Firstly, uniforms make students dull and make the life in school tedious. As youngsters, we have the desire to show ourselves, and express our feelings about the world. However, the uniform imposed on student is somewhat a limitation, because students could not express what they are really thinking about when they bare the thought---"I am a student, I must behave myself". And this limitation leads to the dullness of students.

 

Secondly, uniforms deprive creativity from students. Since the obedience of such specific disciplines, no outbreak could be expected. There will never be an invention, or a discovery, for the reason that they only obey what they have been taught to be. Further more, even when they come of their age, they will still need a supervisor to tell them what to do next. What a horrible situation!

 

Thirdly, to get rid of uniform will save the family some money. Among students, there are some who came from poor families. A uniform cost about 100 Yuan, could equal to half of the income of the whole family in one month. And if the school imposes uniform on students, they will not be able to afford it. For other students whose financial condition is better, the money saved from uniform would be useful in other aspects, such as to buy a calculator, or something else.

 

In a word, I disagree with the opinion that students should wear uniforms for: it make students dull, get students less creative, and cost a little bit expensive.

Firstly, uniforms make students dull(inanimate?) and make the life in school tedious. As youngsters, we have the desire to show ourselves(the glorious side of ourselves with clothing) and express our feelings about the world(express through clothing?). However, the uniform imposed on student is somewhat a limitation(constraint), because students could not express what they are really thinking about when they bare the thought---"I am a student, I must behave myself". And this limitation leads to the dullness of students.

Firstly, uniforms symbolizes constriants to students.During youth most students have the desire of freedom and to show the glorious side of themselves through clothing, makeup, and hair style. Uniform is like chains that keep them in the school nest.Uniform may not descipline students well, contradictarily, it may draw students to be more rebellious to rules and policies.

Secondly, uniform deprives the creativity from students since there's such obedience ruled; no outbreak would be expected. From hair stylising, costume inventing, to academic discovering, they are educated to be only obeying instead of innovating. It would be a "vicious cycle" to start.

 

 

Thirdly, to get rid of(getting rid of) uniform will save the family some money. Among students, there are some who came from poor families.(In some cases money spent on uniforms is a big cocern for students who live on poverty level.) A uniform cost about 100 Yuan, could equal to half of the income of the whole family in one month(A uniform that costs about 100 RMB in some families equal to a whole month's income). And if the school imposes uniform on students, they will not be able to afford it. For other students whose financial condition is better, the money saved from uniform would be useful in(on) other aspects, such as to buy a calculator, or something else.

 

 

In a word, I disagree with the opinion that students should wear uniforms for: it make students dull, get students less creative, and cost a little bit expensive.

In conclusion, uniforms'shortages manifest on dullness, assuage student's creativity, and priciness.
