My business school is very strong in Finance. One of my alumni who went to Kellog for exchange told me that though both schools have similar qualified marketing professors, the atmosphere is very different. In my school, there are presentations/seminars/club activities related to finance all the time, while in Kellog, there are many such activities related to marketing. What I want to say is that if you like finance, then Chicago, if general management/marketing then Kellog. People are influenced by classmates, alumni and professors from business school, till the whole life. I guess if you like finance but most of your classmates are interested in marketing/management, then your understanding or interest in finance might be changed. If you choose Chicago, you might find you have deeper understanding in finance market, and will have life long alumni network in finance industry. I recommend you to think about how to align your dream with school culture. I was not that interested in finance before business schools, but I changed my mind totally later as every one around are talking about IB/PE/HF. |
