I am not against money. Sure, the more, the merrier. I am not against big law firm job. I think it is a balance. Like in the seminal neohawk post yesterday, sometimes in the life, hypothetically, you might have to make a choice between 70hour/week in the big law firm or spend the time with your children. Life is too short. I really don't think we need to live for the money. A job that suits your personality and makes you happy is the most important thing. I think it will be easy with a law degree since it is useful everywhere. I used to have a labmate who is in the middle 30s with four kids. (he just found an industry job and left.) He was making 40~50K per year at the time I knew him. He made even less when he was pursuing  h.D. His wife is a stay-home mum. They borrowed a lot of loan according to my knowledge. But they are genuine happy people. I really don't think money matters that much in the business of happiness. |
