10th of 185 agree/disagree "luck has nothing to do with success"
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." is an old cliché, but I believe in it. It means that what is the most essential in success is hard work, and luck is only an appearance of success. My arguments for this point are as follows.
Firstly, it is hard work that made our nowadays life more comfortable and convenient. Imagine that if we do not have electricity, what the night will be in a big city? If we do have no telephone and Internet, what the international communication and trade will continue? If we do not have automobiles and planes, what will the transportation system will be? Where all these comes from? Our predecessor. Without their hard work we might still be using wood to cook instead of microwave ovens, using fire to illuminate instead of electricity.
Secondly, a person could be eminent due to his or her hard work. A job hunter won't find a job unless he gets down looking for a job. Also, after he found a job, it is his endeavor will get him promoted, which some other people may thought it is his luck because they did not see the pains-taking procedure. As for student, to study hard is the only way that will make her standing out from the others. No one could earn a high score without an arduous process. She deserves it.
Thirdly, have you ever thought about that if the members of our society only count on luck to success? Take a look at the person, who is mad about lottery, you will have the answer. If this do happens, our moral level will degrade, there will be no progress, and our society will totally lose control. What a horror society.
In short, only hard work could make our living standard enhanced, only hard work will make a person success, only hard work could ensure us a peaceful and colorful life.
