请教高人，G分可以但工作背景差能申请top10吗？

请高人指教：G的成绩还可以，700整，可是工作7年都在政府管理部门，申请美国的TOP10-20有希望吗，听在美国的同学说，根本不要指望，TOP40-50就好了。到底情况是怎样的，在美国读MBA的前辈能否告之一二，万分感谢。
另外若现在还没有着手申请，是 不是死定了。。。急啊

7年在政府部门, 你的背景很有趣. 应该有很多故事可以讲, 并且可以从一个政府职能部门的角度看问题, 非常独特.

haha, your american friends seem to be .... well, they need to investigate more before they advice anybody.

as far as I know, the school I am in or my friends are in (which are top20 schools), they intensionally recruite at least one government employee every year. remember, they recruite just around 6 to 10 people from China every year, 10% is a huge percentage in terms of industry sector.

your competition is not from people in other industries, but your government friends. if someone else has a higher rank or better story than you, that will affect your chance to get in.

yeah, your background is somewhat unique. I know Stanford admits applicants with government background every year. So you don't have to show your uniqueness. what you need to do is to show you can fit in the program, i.e., you are really interested in business and you possess the abilities to thrive.
