GMAT Score

I heard from a friend that top 10 MBA programs favor GMAT scores that were taken within a year, althought GMAT is valid for 5 years. Is this ture? I want to apply next year, and I don't wanna take it again. Can anyone here tell me regarding this issue?

 I have never heard of that. It should not be a problem. I knew several persons who were admitted by top-tier bschools with GMAT taken more than one year ago.

Because I think MBA programs maybe favor GMAT scores that were taken within one year...........
