This school ranks 82 in USNews, I don't know where you get the data of 51.It is a third tier school so I don't think its ranking is that high. It is all up to you to decide whether you would like to go there or not. I have got full scholarships from other schools that rank much higher, and Pepperdine is out of my scope. If you feel comfortable to go, then just go. You will enjoy your two years' study there with the beautiful beach and campus.

That was just my impression about Pepperdine, different people have different views. I am not going to ask you to go or not. It is wholly up to you.

Speaking of its location, it's really good, next to beach and around downtown LA. Aside from those big schools with national wide network and reputation, in my mind, others are the same. Pepperdine owns nice reputation in LA, second to UCLA and USC. The location edge will enlarge the likelihood to get a job, especially in entertainment industry, however, it's still hard to international students. But who can tell what will happen in other regional school.

I am a 2nd year MBA student at Pepperdine(I got my master from Fudan in finance, GMAT/750, got full scholarship and GA) and will work for an investment bank in Los Angeles after graduation in April. Glad to share some information about this school and the program:

-------------------------------------------------------

Some rankings of Pepperdine if you are interested:

The Graziadio School of Business & Management has been consistently ranked by BusinessWeek as having one of the world's Top 25 Executive MBA programs, and US News & World Report has ranked the Graziadio School's Fully-Employed MBA program in the world's Top 30 and its Full-Time MBA program in the world's Top 100. Financial Times magazine has ranked the Graziadio School's EMBA in the world's Top 65. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepperdine_University)

-------------------------------------------------------

If you plan to stay in Los Angeles, you will know the value of Pepperdine's MBA. It has a good reputation in California among recruiters. Private schools are known to have the best professors and facilities, which is quite different from China. What I like most is the network at Pepperdine, especially for anyone who has enterpreneur spirit, you will find it a great school- many of your classmates have family business in the US or in other countries.

For interview and recruitying:

Interview differs from person to person. I was interviewed by one alumni in Shanghai and he's very professional. But as far as I know, as the number of applicants increase in recent years, requirements for scholarship and admission also increased.

If you can get admission to top 10, just go. Otherwise, you will find factors other than ranking more important in pursuing your career goals: locations, employment opportunities, networks, specialties, local rankings (recognitions) ... ... , and of course, scholarship!

Most recent Wall Street Journal ranking lists Pepperdine among top 50s. Rankings differs in different industries, but WSJ at least reflects Pepperdine's rank in financial industry in the US.

I would say, compared with any school in the middle area of US with ranking after 20th, you won't regret choosing epperdine. Employment opportunity in LA/west coast/east coast is much higher than in the middle. And, internship (most of the time, a prelude to a formal job offer) opportunities are ample in LA area.

Don't forget the purpose of your MBA study..................................................to find a decent job..................................................... and of course, to take the people you love and who loves you to enjoy the beach, leisure, and life ...

Congratulations on your offer first!

No offense to Pepperdine, anyway I didn't even apply to it. If it is a great school in your mind, then enjoy it! I decided not to apply to it immediately after my conversation with the alumnus and the admission officer. The Chinese alumnus didn't speak good English and said he got tired reading English, he asked me if I had a Chinese resume. That left me a bad impression...also, the admission officer admitted that it was very hard for their international students to find a decent job in the US, half of their students went back to their home countries. Also, people said there were only three schools in south CA that enjoy good reputation, UCLA, USC and UCI, Pepperdine just never gets in the second tier.

Again, glad that you enjoyed your time  there, that is the most important thing, right? You like it, and it does not matter how I feel about it, right?
