Interviews

An evaluative interview is conducted by invitation only, at the discretion of the Admissions Board, after an application has been submitted and reviewed.

Interviews are generally conducted by a member of the MBA Admissions Board or a member of our small alumni/ae interviewing network. Interviews may be scheduled on campus, on the telephone, or in domestic or international hub cities.

The timing of your interview does not imply anything about the status of your application nor does it impact your candidacy. Invitations to interview may be extended up until the notification date and are a positive indicator no matter when you receive them.

This is to confirm, as per the initial email response, that invitations will continue to be extended until March 28th.

Please be advised that the Admissions Board started extending invitations to interview one week earlier than expected. The invitation date has no correlation to the application submission date. Invitations are sent as the applications are reviewed.

Hi Yaoyao,

I'm very impressed by your amazing memory about your interiew. I notice that many questions were actually already answered through essays, also I heard that HBS admissions officer have known you quite well through essays before the interview. So how did you answer the overlapped questions? just repeat and detailed the essay stories  to demonstrate you are the person who wrote the essays or come up with some other examples to convince the interviewer you have more stuff to demonstrate your outstanding achievments? can you share with us some of your insights? Can't thank you enough!

You can use the same stories but tell them from a different perspective or elaborate on the details.  You can also tell other stories that you didn't manage to fit into the application.

Remember you're not there to validate your application.  You're there to impress!
