答案应该是最早这句话当中，那就看前面一句话当中的名词了。只有：writers，sources，evidence。只可能是这三个中的一个。writers当然不会是，sources of evidence中，只可能是sources。因此答案是B。

请问大家选哪个好呢，本人感觉很难的题目，我的和答案一样，只是靠感觉。因为我辅导我爱人，死活就解释不清楚，欢迎大家讨论指正。

注意看thus出现的那句话，and thus前的那一句的宾语为sources，所以这题在做的时候不要想太多，直接选sources，从and thus可以看出这句话是强烈的因果关系，因此答案应在这句话里找，references（D）是them所在的句子没提到的，所以排除
