Do you agree or disagree "to achieve success, knowledge learned through study is more important than the ability of creative".

 

To answer this question “which factors is more important in achieving success, knowledge or creativity?” my choice is the latter one. In order to explain my view, I will give reasons and specific examples in the follows below.

Four hundred years ago, Sir Francis Bacon claimed: “ Knowledge is power”. As we know, these words became a sound of an era, and literally motto of many people. Can we deny a wisdom proverb from a wise man? These words reflect the weight of knowledge and perception of human since several thousand years ago when people first learned to make fire. Obviously we all know the importance of knowledge since our childhood, we bear it in our mind for using it in future, and we were told knowledge is the only thing that can’t be robbed of our belongings. When we grow up, we court our wealth and fame by achieving the success in our business and career, and we owe our success totally to the knowledge that is gained from the study in our childhood and youth. Is it true? Which I take leave to doubt, that only if you have enough knowledge, you can make yourself successful.

One hundred years ago, the great scientist Albert Einstein gave his answer about what you need to be success. He said: “ Imagination is more important than knowledge!” This scientific giant indicated that mere knowledge is not enough, and for a man who want to obtain outstanding achievement have to do more-----let his imagination soared, and try him best to make use of creativity to solve some difficulty that people had never met, or never thought. Knowledge is the nature of things that has been understood, and creativity is the tool to decode which have not been clear. We can say every piece of knowledge found by the creativity of our predecessors. Relative Theory, for instance, is a concrete example to prove this statement. Before Einstein, many scientists stay at the traditional physical analysis to explain the all sorts of phenomenon in the world, so they stick in the mud when they meet the problem that a object at the speed of light, yet Einstein smashed the traditional understanding and explain it in a different way about the problem of time and velocity. Consequently, Einstein’s creativity beat the knowledge that hold by all the scientists at that time.

In addition, another good example that explained creativity more important than knowledge in achieving the success happened in business field-----Raymond Kroc and his McDonald’s corp. Kroc who has ever been a milk-shake machine salesman created a new operation system to manage his corporation. It is needless to say McDonald’s uncle sold hamburgers, but actually he made a profit by buying up the tracts of land and selling the franchises---he is an owner of real estate, in other words, he is a landlord. His creativity made himself an industrial pioneer no less capable than Henry Ford. Now McDonald’s had became a symbol of America.

Chinese famous technology company Lenovo has a motto “ what our world would be like if human beings lost of creativity ”, virtually, creativity is the source of success, and the root of development of human society. Admittedly, knowledge is essence quality a successful man must have, but creativity is the key to change the adverse situation and make one successful ultimately. Therefore from what we have discussed, we can safely come to the conclusion that creativity plays a much larger part in achieving the success than knowledge.

Renewable resources of energy (sun ,wind, water) will soon replace the old resources of fossil fuels(gas ,oil and coal ) ,agree or disagree?

 

 

When someone ask me this question, “do you agree renewable resources of energy will soon replace the old resources of fossil fuels?”  My view is negative, that is, I disagree this statement. I will give reasons as follows.

In the first point, the old resources have been already used for hundreds of years. Every day a large amount of (any amount of) the fossil fuels are consumed by industrial production and daily life. You can imagine hundreds and thousands of giant oil tankers
                navigate back and forth among the world’s great harbors. Modern people can’t survive without the traditional resource. They use it to cook their meals, warm their house, and filled their car. In fact, many machines are used to running with oil or gas. Coal, is also an important resource, particularly in china, in spite of this resource is not always safe, and gas explosion happens sometimes and lead to the death of one hundred coal workers or ever more. Surely Chinese government don’t have a good idea to solve this problem because of the large consumption of coal in china, every one knows the facts that Chinese rely on this sort of black and stiff resource.   

In addition, the history of using the new renewable resources is no more than five decades and this kind of energy occupies only a faction number of the resources in the total energy exhausted by the modern world. The governments in the world lack the time and money to develop the new facilities to make use of the renewable resources and research on the safety of the new resources. It is needless to say some new resources are very dangerous if we can’t treat them in the right way and right time, for example, the nuclear energy. Moreover, some new resource, like tides, is waiting for the new facilities to transform the energy of flow to the electric energy that can be accepted by the machines with an efficient way.

Admittedly, the new renewable resource of energy has a splendid future, and in not so far future, people won’t aware of exhaustion of the resource. But in the short time, they can’t meet the demand of human society. Whatever, A lot of things need to do, if we want to make good use of the new resources, and the old resource can’t replace by the energy come from the sun, wind and water soon.

Consequently, the old resources play a much larger part in the industrial production and social daily life in recent years, while the renewable resources of energy can’t replace the old ones totally, but the renewable resources of energy is the tendency of development in future. We hope people will not be afraid that we don’t have enough oil or gas to consume, because our sun, wind and water are engaging in producing energy on our behalf.

Do you agree or disagree with that statement: you(student) should take the most difficult class in colleague or at university, even if you cannot get the top grades (or marks )in them.

 

 

           I agree with this statement and I believe I would  benefit from the most difficult class even though I might not get the top grade.
           In the first place, I can broaden my knowledge, push myself  think deeply and  make my mind more complex by taking the most difficult class. I have ever chosen a course called "the Modern Physics" last semester, which talks about the theories of the modern physics like Relative Theory. I did not expect such a great deal of  complex equations and analysis ways before  getting into that classroom and other students might not imagine how difficult it is. But in the end of the class I found I was able to explain some theory in a logical way, and understand the complicate formation easier. Maybe this difficult class stimulated my intelligence, soared my imagination and made me feel that learning from a difficult class  is also enjoyable.
                

        In addition, I can get more confidence by taking the most difficult class. Because the more difficult a course is, the higher level is considered.  As to the course "the Modern Physics", I listened to the class carefully and searched a lot of  materials in the library to help me understand, discussed problems  with other excellent classmates and I finally passed the exam. The most exciting thing was that I could proudly tell my friends I did it even though I did not get top score at last. It is a challenge to choose the most difficult course and it is a victory to go through the most difficult course to the end.
                

Admittedly,  grade is very important for  graduate schools  if  you want to continue to study and employment when you are ready to work. Generally grade can reflect the ability and capacity of  knowledge to some extent but it can not explain everything for a student. I also pay great attention to my grade and would not always choose the most difficult courses but I will choose some difficult courses that I think useful and helpful for my future career. I believe that besides the grade a lot of  other qualities are also needed to be successful.
